hold on...
Icon set of espresso beverage diagrams I created for use with the menu system designed for 3CUPS’ store cafe.
Top row: Americano, Mocha, Latte
Bottom row: Cappuccino, Macchiatto, Espresso
The icons were also accompanied with a legend defining each shade and pattern of the drinks contents. The icons served the purpose of easily explaining menu choices without being overly descriptive, easing the flow of the ordering process.
Custom lettering logotype for David Ruiz’s project, “Rude Troll”
Recent work — February edition in the weekend wine tasting series for 3Cups. Moved further in the direction I’m working towards for another map project. Limiting the black key-line to the base of the design helps guide the viewer more easily than my last design for the series. Better overall contrast/element distinguishing = better legibility. Pulled inspiration from this set of matchboxes I came across. Really liked the simple illustration/limited color/registration to define image versus using a line to define shapes, which is something I naturally tend to do — so it was nice to force myself out of my comfort zone. I also limited myself to three colors in addition to three shades of black and layered them to create additional colors/mimic the print process. I’ll try to utilize this more in future works. That sort of restriction should help to keep the design from feeling too busy and without hierarchy (which I think I’m teetering on the edge of not achieving here with such a graphically intensive pattern/patch approach). Word up.
